Eligibility Requirements:

The following requirements must be met by a candidate in order to be eligible for the University of Calgary Scholarship:

  • English is a required language.
  • All nations in the world are eligible.

The University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship:

  • Offered yearly to international undergraduate students beginning their first year of any undergraduate degree in the fall who meet the university’s English language proficiency criteria.

    If awardees maintain a GPA of 2.60 or higher over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee The grant is re-eligible for international students in their second, third, and fourth years at the University of Calgary.
  • Academic standing for non-Canadian nationals or permanent residents who are international students and must pay premium tuition.

Energizing Canada International Entrance Scholarship:

  • One international student beginning their first year of a bachelor’s degree program at the University of Calgary is eligible for this award each year. If awardees maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 over a minimum of 24.00 units during the prior fall and winter terms, the scholarship is renewable in the second, third, and fourth years at the University of Calgary.

  • Must have finished high school at an approved institution in China, including Hong Kong and Macau.
  • Preference will be given to a student entering a bachelor’s program in engineering, business, health sciences, or urban studies.

Applying Procedures:

To apply for this scholarship, please follow the directions below:

  • You can start your application. Begin by creating a UCalgary eID.
  • To assist you with your application, use the  application guide
  • Your application and the $145 processing fee should be sent in.
  • Your Calgary Student Center will provide you with instructions on how and where to submit any required paperwork in accordance with your application. For more information, see the  documents page

2. Apply for the Scholarship, Follow the next steps:

  • Utilize your myUofC portal to access your Student Center.
  • Click on the “My Financials” page in your Student Center.
  • Click “Apply for Undergraduate Awards” under the Awards & Scholarships section after scrolling down. Make sure pop-ups are turned on. The page won’t show if pop-ups are disabled.
  • Your screen will display any open or recently closed applications in a popup window. Please be aware of the deadlines for both the availability and submission of applications.
