Excellent news! The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Scholarships 2024–2025 are completely financed for overseas students. Both master’s and Ph.D. degrees are eligible for these awards. These scholarships will provide 1350 euros each month. There are also an additional 100 euro lump sum payments available to pay for additional healthcare bills and research expenses.

The funding for this program comes from the Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt). The number of semesters or average length of your studies (Regelstudienzeit) determines the maximum length of the scholarship. The scholarship will initially be offered for one year and thereafter given till the end if the requirements are met. Extensions are possible over and above the Regelstudienzeit.

Students can receive support from the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung’s Scholarship Department for a variety of activities, including political education events and summer schools, local and distant conferences, symposia, and educational outings.

It also arranges for practical instruction in subjects like rhetoric, conflict resolution, and other critical skills, as well as time management and self-management, strengthening academic credentials, text and writing workshops, and specialist technique seminars.

Applicants for the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Scholarships 2024–2025 will receive the following benefits:

  • For Master’s:  The 850€ monthly basic scholarship also includes a lump sum payment of 20€. For health and nursing insurance, further financial assistance of up to 86 euros is also available.
  • For Ph.D.: The doctoral fellowship, which is worth 1350 euros per month, is generally independent of one’s salary. There are also an additional 100 euro lump sum payments available to pay for additional healthcare bills and research expenses. Additionally, recipients of scholarships may get funds to help defray the cost of traveling abroad (for conferences, research, etc.).

Eligibility Requirements:

Candidate must meet all the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Scholarship:

  • English language proficiency is necessary. German language ability (B2 or higher).
  • All nations in the world are eligible. Preference is given to women, students from disadvantaged backgrounds, immigrants, those in need in society, people with disabilities, and people who have proven their ability and devotion. Applications from graduate students of technical colleges as well as undergraduate and Ph.D. students in scientific and technological areas are strongly encouraged.
  • Submit the application only in either German or English.
  • MA German university students must enroll at one of these institutions.
