Pakistani actor and comedian Ismail Tara died on Thursday in Karachi at the age of 73.
The legendary TV star, who shot to fame with his stellar performance in Pakistani drama Fifty Fifi, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi, the actor’s family has confirmed.
He was admitted to a hospital due to some health complications and was put on ventilator after his health deteriorated severely. The cause of his death is said to be kidney failure. He is survived by a widow, four sons and a daughter.
The funeral prayers of the actor will be offered after Friday prayers at Memon Jama Masjid Phiriwali, Shaheed Millat Road.
Tara has acted in several stage plays, television and around 14 Lollywood films. He is a five-time Nagar Award winner for Best Comedian in Haati Mere Saathi, Lasti Mujra, Munda Bugda Jaye, Chief Sahib and Diwareen.
