Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify for the Cancer Research Institute applicant must fulfill the conditions listed below:

  • Required Languages: English.
  • Eligible Countries: All World Countries.
  • The CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program only accepts candidates who actively engage in research in immunology or cancer immunology. A qualified project must be related to curing cancer and fall within the wide category of immunology.
  • Applicants need to have a doctorate by the time the award is active. The proposed research needs to carry out under the formal sponsorship of an official host institution employee.
  • Except for M.D. applicants, who should not count years of residency in this calculation, candidates with 5 or more years of relevant postdoctoral experience are not eligible.
  • Applicants who already work three or more years in a sponsor’s lab by the start date of the fellowship will only receive consideration in rare cases.
  • The fellowship must need to complete at a non-profit institution, whether it is located in the United States or abroad. There are no limitations based on citizenship.
  • Faculty sponsors are limited to three CRI-supported fellows at any given time, and each sponsor is only allowed to submit one fellow every application round.

Applying Procedures:

Applicants must need to follow the following steps to apply for the CRI fellowship:

(1) Fill out the PDF application form, print it, and obtain signatures for the Institutional Certifications section. Signatures must require from the following individuals:

  • An Internal Review Board (IRB) or certifying officer who can verify the proposal’s adherence to institutional and governmental rules.
  • Administrative representative of the organization.
  • The financial director of the organization.

(2) When your application is complete, you need to scan it as a PDF and upload it along with your other supporting documents when submitting it online.

(3) The following supporting documents need to upload in this order on the last page of the application:
  • The cover sheet opens the PDF application form as a whole. Please confirm that section three has received the necessary signatures.
  • A succinct summary of the applicant’s educational background and research achievements.
  • List of other funding sources, together with their deadlines, to which applications have been or will be made.
  • The resume and biography of the applicant.
  • A brief overview of your project.
  • Research abstract in simple English describing the significance of the planned study and its possible clinical applicability.
  • Clearly stated research proposal.
  • Letter from the sponsor outlining their qualifications to lead the proposed research and introducing the applicant.
  • A resume or a biosketch of the sponsor, a bibliography, and a mention of the sponsor’s current research funding are all required.
  • There are two letters of recommendation essential. A letter from the applicant’s thesis advisor is necessary. A person who is familiar with the applicant’s work should write the second letter.

Note:  Please avoid sending multiple attachments. If your name is John Brown, your file should be named Brown, John PDF. All files must be integrated into one document and named using this technique.
