About Aiou:
The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), a university with its headquarters in Islamabad, Pakistan, was founded in 1974. The institution’s major goal is to offer education to people who can’t leave their homes or jobs to attend a conventional, private university.
Since there is no upper age limit for enrollment in university programs, more than 70% of registered students are employed.
When it originally opened its doors, the AIOU was the first Open University in Asia and the second in the globe. Since then, it has increased access to higher education, particularly for women, who make up the majority of students. Additionally, it is much less expensive for students to attend than a conventional higher education institution.
